I love my life!!! 3/19/13

Dear family and friends,

I always thought that every missionary who said they cannot believe another week has passed since they last emailed was just kidding, but it is totally true! haha! As usual, though, there is so much to say and so little time. But I will try my best to get everything in that I can.

We taught two twenty minutes in the TRC again this week, and it was an incredible experience. We taught the members a lesson about the Holy Ghost and the importance it is to always be worthy of the Spirit because we never know when the Lord will communicate with us. I felt really strongly again this week to bear my testimony to the members about the love that Heavenly Father has for them. I know that God loves all of His children. He has given us all that we have, and He has so many blessings in His pocket that He wants to give to us. He is not just going to give us those blessings, however. Instead, we need to work hard and be obedient to all of the commandments He has given us. I have found this to be so true as I have been studying here in the MTC. Everyone recieves blessings here, but it is so interesting to see the miracles that come to those who are obedient with exactness. This week, reevaluate the dedication you have in keeping the Lords commandments, and strive to follow the example of Jesus Christ more perfectly. I know that because this is a righteous decision, the Lord will help you achieve what you desire.

Another great experience that happened this week took me by surprise!!!! Each missionary is given a sacrament meeting topic every week, and throughout the week we are supposed to prepare a talk in our language that helps us learn to focus our study time and so we can use sometime throughout our missions. Every Sunday, though, the branch president, just after sacrament finishes, announces which two missionaries in the zone will address the rest during sacrament meeting. Haha so guess what?! I got chosen to speak! Oh my I was so nervous!!! But to my surprise, I was able to stand in front of forty other French speaking missionaries and deliver a talk...in French.:) It was the most incredible experience, and even though my legs were shaking so so bad! I felt the power of the Holy Ghost speak through me. French is a beautiful language, and it's incredible to see how much I am learning in such a short amount of time, but it was such an increadible and humbling experience to feel Him working through me, strenghtening me and strengthening the other missionaries I serve with.

Before I lay down every night I am so overwhelmed with gratitude to the Lord for all I have been given. Having a knowledge and a testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the best gift I have ever been given. I am filled with joy every minute of every day, and I just cannot stop smiling. I am so humbled to be called as the Lord's servant, set apart to proclaim this Gospel to those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear it. I am so grateful for the time I have now to prepare at the MTC, and I know that one I leave there is nothing or no one who will keep me from proclaiming these things to the people of France. As my family and friends, I want you to know that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lord's true church upon the earth, and I know that it is lead by Jesus Christ. I know the Savior lives, that He loves me, and He loves you. I know that the power of the Holy Ghost is real, and He works though us as a testament of the Lord Jesus Christ. If you do not know these things are true for yourself, I invite you to kneel and ask, in the name of Jesus Christ, if these things are not true. I testify that as you are humble and willing to obey Him, He will manifest the truth of these things unto you. I bear this testimony to you, without a shadow of a doubt, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Rember to be a light. There is someone somewhere who needs your help. Pray for guidance to know where to find them. And always remember to smile.:)

I love you with all of my heart, Sister Laura Lee Judd

Teaching at the TRC 3/12/13

Dear friends and family,

Thank you so much for all of the messages, pictures, and DearElders!!! I think I got all of the DearElders that were sent this past week, and they were all awesome! Thank you thank you so much! I loved pictures too! Wow April thank you so much! And Happy Birthday to you and to little Turner! I love you both so much! April, thank you so much for your sweet letter. You are so kind and genuine to me. I would love to write you! but sadly I cannot until next week. Could you perhaps send me your home address? Thank you! And it looks like y'all are having so much fun down at Spring Training! and India! and Australia! and Guatemala! Wow family, you are all doing so many fun things and you are all making the world a better place-no matter where you are. I love you all so much!

Well things here at the MTC are still going great! Wow I am so incredibly happy. This week I taught at the TRC for the first time, and it was one of the most spiritual experiences I have ever had in my life. Basically, the TRC is like a home teaching or visiting teaching lesson, so it's with a member of the church, but it's all in French! Cool, huh? Anyways, one of the girls we taught was named Shyanne, and she is 18 years old and fluent in French. Sister Johns and I planned a whole lesson, but felt the Spirit telling us to talk more directly to Shyanne and to tell her that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love her. I got pretty emotional during the lesson, and I felt so blessed to be the way Heavenly Father chose to express His love to Shyanne that day. I bear testimony that Heavenly Father loves all of us, for we are all His children. He wants nothing more than for us to live with Him again, and that has been made possible through the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. Throught the Atonement of Jesus Christ, as we exercise its power everyday, will teach us and help us grow. If you are having any doubts or fears or self-consciousness in your life, pray and ask Heavenly Father to comfort you, and I know it will be wiped away through the power of the Atonement. I know the power of the Atonement is real, and I have used it many many times, even in my first weeks here in the MTC. The Lord loves you, and I urge you to pray and try to better understand that love He has more fully.

Well I am sorry I do not have more time to write. Pday is awesome! but it's still run by a clock.:) haha. Oh! I forgot to mention that there is a teacher here at the MTC named Frere Wilcox who was in the same ward with Annie at Lanai for a couple years, and he has taught me class a couple times! He told me that he called and talked to Annie a little bit, and that was way fun for me to hear! He is awesome! Frere Wilcox is the coolest. So maybe he told Annie some more stuff about my district or language or something that she can tell you more about.:) haha.

Anyways. I love you all with all of my heart! Remember that you can make a difference, wherever you are. Find someone to help, and always remember to smile.:)

Surprise trip to San Francisco 3/5/13

My dearest family and friends,

Hello from the MTC! Wow I always have so so much to say when I sit down, but I really have so little time to write. I am so sorry. But thank you so much for letting me know of all that is going on with you!

I sent a couple pictures today, and you may be surprised to see that I got to go to San Francisco this week! haha. It was the greatest surprize ever! We flew out early Wednesday moring and got back later that night, but we got to spend the day visiting the French consulate to get out visas and traveling aroudnd the city. The best experience about traveling to San Francisco, however, was talking to the man sitting next to me on the place ride home. He is a Russian neuro-scientist who graduated from MIT and was coming to Utah for a conference. I love talking to him about his life and sharing with him stories from mine. I gave him some great ideas of things to do when he visited Utah, and I told him the implications of being a missionary. He was interesting in everything I had to say about the MTC and spreading the Gospel. It was so easy and so fun to just talk about the church and its mission. Although I didn't place a Book of Mormon or teach the entire first discussion, I know that I helped this man better understand the Gospel and to maybe one day be a recipient of the blessings it has to offer in his life. Truly, that is missionary work, and I hope that throughout my mission and throughout my life, I can convey the joy that I feel as being a member of the church and help them to feel that joy as well. When we are happy, when we smile, people notice. And perhaps we can have to opportunity to tell them why we are happy-and that's through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I hope that this week, you will all try to spread this joy, to share it. I love you with all of my heart. Remember to smile always.:)

First week! 2/26/13

Cher ma famille et mes amis,

Well this week has been the best week of my life! I am so happy to be here at the MTC, and I love everything about it! I love the Spirit, my companion, my district, my zone, the language, the teachers, the food, and everthing else! haha. I have loved getting letters and emails from you this week! They make me so happy! Emails to myldsmail account are awesome, but my time is actually really limited here in the MTC. I only have a half hour to write on Pday, so really the best way to communicate things to me is through DearElder.com. When you use DearElder, I have to wait all day to read the letters I have in my hand, but I am able to read it that same day after my preparation time. Getting DearElders and hand written letters are seriously the best thing in the world! I love you all! But thank you thank you for all that you have each done for me-whether it be in letters, thoughts, or prayers. I need all of the help I can get out here! and I feel your support every minute of every day. I love you.
Well to reply to some of the things people have said already...
Ryan! It sounds like your team did great this past weekend! Thank you for the updates! I love my team.:) Too bad there were no wins, but hey, y'all did so so well this season, and I am proud of you and all your boys. Ryan you are the best coach in the world! I am so grateful for all you taught me as my coach those years playing ball. Those boys are sure lucky to have you! Alicia is leaving to India today! What an awesome experience! I have been praying for you in the upcoming experiences you will have there, and I am so excited! India changed so many of the perspectives I have in life. Make sure you approach the trip thinking about other people always and helping them progress. Remember the Savior when you serve there, and I promise you will change more than anyone else. I love you.

Everyone is leaving on their trips soon, and that is so exciting! Too bad none of you are joining me on the BEST trip! I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to be serving a mission. Remember, no matter where you are or where you go, there is someone who is in need of help. Look for special opportunities to serve others around you. Serving others will make you happy, and you will learn and grow. Well I'm sure y'all are wondering a little bit about things here at the MTC. Annie has told you all a lot of what has been going on, and all of the GOOD HAPPY things she has said happen here are so so so true. I absolutely love my companion. Her name is Soeur Johns, and she is from Dallas, Texas. She has beautiful red hair, and stunning smile, and a pure heart. Her testimony burns so bright, and she knows what she teaches is true. Her and I get along so well, and she is so motivated and hard working. She has truly blessed my life this past week, and I love her so much. I also love my district. Everyone is so so awesome! I love them with all of my heart. The language is coming along good. I remember so much more than I thought, and I truly am blessed! There is no way that I could be speaking and teaching the way I am without the love and mercy of Jesus Christ. I know that this Gospel is true. The Lord's hand is in all things, and I feel His assistance every minute of every day. Jesus Christ is our friend, our brother, and our Savior. I testify that He lives, and He loves us.

Her companion Soeur Johns!
Well I am so sorry I am out of time! I have so much to say but I can't right now! But thank you for all of your love and support! I love you with all of my heart. You can make a difference, wherever you are. Find someone to help. Remember to smile.:) I love you with all of my heart.

Love, Sister Laura Lee Judd
